“Power” Fallout: Omari Hardwick and 50 Cent Clash Over Series Finale

The “Power” universe faces a real-life power struggle, with Omari Hardwick, the show’s lead actor, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the co-creator, at odds over the series finale.

Hardwick reignited the debate at the Tribeca Film Festival, expressing his and his fans’ dissatisfaction with how his character, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, met his demise.

“The way the story was sold to me just doesn’t feel like how it ended,” Hardwick stated, suggesting a potential disconnect between the promised character arc and the final execution.

He further emphasized the importance of fan engagement, hinting that the show might have strayed from its original commitment to audience satisfaction.

50 Cent, known by his rap moniker 50 Cent, took to Instagram to respond cryptically but seemingly frustratedly. Using emojis and veiled language, he questioned Hardwick’s perspective and expressed disappointment with his comments. The message implies that 50 Cent feels his past support for Hardwick wasn’t acknowledged.

This isn’t the first public disagreement between the two. Last year, Hardwick revealed negotiations for his return to the “Power” spin-offs fell through due to unmet creative demands.

With both Hardwick and 50 Cent voicing their opinions, the conversation surrounding “Power’s” ending intensifies.

50 was jealous because Omari is handsome and played his role to perfection. 50 added Kanan and fans couldn’t wait for him to die because nobody wants to see 50 on film. Ghost didn’t have to die.

They exploited him he made the show 50 wouldn’t have to do anything for him if he was compensated the man right & now you want to throw it in his face very disingenuous

Omari is saying what we’ve been saying since the show ended. How does Kanan get a back story & Ghost doesn’t? The way they had Ghost treating Tasha & Tariq in that last season was uncharacteristic of him. But Omari is right.

That goes to show that no matter how much you help a person they will still find some type of way to put you down.

It’s his opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️. He still calling the show art, he’s just pointing out how shows nowadays pay too much attention to what ppl are saying online and begin to change the narratives.
