A New York judge denied R. Kelly’s request for bail, saying the singer is a flight risk with “significant incentive” to flee.

The 52-year-old R. Kelly was denied bail in a Brooklyn courtroom packed with his supporters. Kelly, whose full name is Robert Kelly, is accused of using his fame to recruit young women and girls into having illegal sexual activity.

The other charges include one count of racketeering and four counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits sexual trafficking across state lines.

Judge Steven L. Tiscione denied Kelly’s request for bail.
