Real Madrid Continue Winning Streak with 3-2 Victory Over Alavés

Real Madrid secured their fifth consecutive win of the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Alavés at the Santiago Bernabéu. Carlo Ancelotti’s side dominated for much of the match, taking control early on and holding off a late surge from the visitors to keep the three points in Madrid.

The game got off to a lightning-fast start with Los Blancos taking the lead in just the first minute. A spectacular cross-field switch from Federico Valverde found Vinícius Júnior, whose quick footwork left Alavés defender Mouriño in the dust. Vinícius then delivered a perfectly weighted ball into the box, where Lucas Vázquez was waiting to fire it home with his left foot. It was a milestone moment for Vázquez, marking his 250th goal in the competition.

Real Madrid didn’t stop there. With relentless pressure and fluid play, they doubled their lead just before halftime. A clever back-heel flick from Kylian Mbappé to Jude Bellingham initiated a silky one-two between the pair, with Mbappé finishing the move in style. The Frenchman cut into the box, danced past defender M. Diarra, and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Sivera after a mesmerizing 26-pass build-up. This marked Mbappé’s sixth goal in his last five games, continuing his red-hot form.

The second half began much like the first, with Madrid on the front foot. In the 48th minute, Rodrygo delivered the third goal after a brilliant solo effort, weaving past two Alavés defenders and calmly slotting the ball between Sivera’s legs. The Brazilian’s goal seemed to put the game out of reach for the visitors, but Alavés had other ideas.

Despite Real Madrid nearly adding a fourth goal—when Endrick’s shot deflected off a defender and rattled the crossbar—Alavés mounted a late comeback. A. Rebbach hit the post in the 76th minute, setting the stage for a tense final stretch. Alavés capitalized on their momentum, finding the net twice in two minutes. Protesoni scored in the 85th minute, followed by a quick strike from Kike García in the 87th minute, cutting Madrid’s lead to just one goal.

However, the hosts held firm to secure the 3-2 win and maintain their flawless start to the season. Ancelotti’s men have now scored in all nine of their official matches, racking up 21 goals.
