Congresswoman Lauren Boebert questioned on Thursday about why her colleagues were “horny” since the resignation of two other congressmen due to sex-related cases.

“Yeah, go to church. Find Jesus. Like, why is everybody so horny here?” Boebert quipped outside the US Capitol as she walked away from the interviewers.

The comment came shortly after former Congressman Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and Tony Gonzalez, R-Texas, resigned Tuesday amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

The representative suggested that they get religious guidance just before she addressed the media.

While Swalwell resigned Monday amid allegations from several women who accused him of improper behavior and sexual misconduct, Gonzales announced Monday he would quit as the ethics committee investigated Gonzales’ misconduct against a staff member since March.

Boebert’s comments gained attention as she herself got into trouble in September 2023, with a surveillance camera capturing her and Quinn Gallagher, her then-boyfriend, making inappropriate advances during a theatrical performance at the Denver Theater.

In her defense, Boebert apologized for her actions, accepted full responsibility, and called off the relationship with Quinn Gallagher.

“It’s always hard whenever there’s gravity put on the voters,” Boebert stated. “I’m here to provide levity and lift burdens off of people.”
