I can’t believe the D.A has not filed charges or anything on Jeanne Umana and now she is back. #SantaBarbara I just spoke with the street vendor Antonio and we are going to help him. Make sure to contact the D.A Office in Santa Barbara. #ProtectStreetVendors

In an incident that occurred on September 16th, the retired University of California Santa Barbara professor was caught on video calling a construction worker a “Tijuanan” and many other offensive remarks.

Soon after many people saw the viral video, a protest led by Alex Enamorado took place at Umana’s house. Umana did eventually apologize for her actions on the September 16th incident.

According to KSBY, the Santa Barbara Police Department has referred the case to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of criminal charges against Umana, including trespassing, battery on a person, and hate crime.
