A special kind of thrill comes with watching a Final Destination movie. The kind that has you scanning highways for rogue logs or eyeing roller coasters with newfound paranoia. With Final Destination: Bloodlines, the legacy of inventive, brutal, and occasionally hilarious death sequences continues, and its stars, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, and Anna Lore, were more than ready to dive into the chaos.

We caught up with the trio to discuss their reactions to the script, the moments that left them rattled (on and off screen), and the tracks that best describe Bloodlines’ wild ride.

First Impressions: Script Reactions and Favorite Scenes to Film

When asked what it was like reading the script for the first time, Owen Patrick Joyner didn’t hesitate. “I was really happy. I filmed a lot of our stuff around a vending machine with Richard, and that was a lot of fun. It was a nice entrance into the madness.” Joyner also admitted to watching Harmon closely in those early days, looking to the Final Destination veteran for tone and direction.

Richard Harmon, a longtime fan of the franchise, was immediately hooked. “The script has everything you see in the movie. The tension building, the deaths are all laid out,” he said. “I was like, ‘Okay, I think fans are gonna like this.'”

Anna Lore chimed in on how, despite the franchise’s reputation for elaborate death scenes, the interpersonal moments stood out. “As an actor, the special effect-y scenes are really technical. They’re not quite as much fun as just bouncing off each other. The family scenes, even the funeral, we were dying laughing during those.”

If They Could Cheat Death: Switching Fates On Screen

If given the option to switch their character’s fate with another in the film, the group had a unified answer: die later.

“I would switch with whoever dies last,” Lore said with a grin. “Just for more screen time.” Joyner and Lore nodded in agreement, though Harmon added, “I have a lot of faith I’ll make it out alive.”

Childhood Nightmares: The Final Destination Scenes That Traumatized Them

Everyone remembers that log scene from Final Destination 2, which also left an impression on this cast.

“That was the one for me,” Joyner admitted. “I’d be changing lanes on the highway and not know why.”

Joyner remembered the roller coaster death from Final Destination 3 as the one that haunted him most, even before he saw the full movie. “Everyone talked about that death. It just stuck with me.” Joyner also reflected on the cultural impact of those scenes. “It became a pop culture thing. Being terrified of driving behind a logging truck.” Lore added: “It’s almost like getting ‘Final Destinationed’ became a verb.”

Soundtrack of Death: Picking the Perfect Song for Bloodlines

The answers were delightfully unexpected when asked to describe Bloodlines using just one song.

Owen Patrick Joyner playfully suggested “We Are Family,” drawing on the film’s themes of familial bonds. Richard Harmon went straight for the heart with “Without You” by Air Supply, which appears in the movie. Joyner also brought some flair with “Killing Me Softly,” laughing at the eerie accuracy of the title.

Balancing Terror and Chemistry: Why This Cast Works So Well Together

Beyond the gore and tension, this trio enjoyed working together. Whether cracking up during a funeral scene or feeding off each other’s energy on set, their chemistry brought warmth and authenticity to a franchise known for cold, inevitable death.

A Legacy Reignited: Final Destination: Bloodlines Delivers for a New Generation

Final Destination: Bloodlines promises to reignite all the primal fears the series is known for. Just ask the cast. From screaming at roller coasters to questioning glass-bottom pools (seriously, why), Harmon, Joyner, and Lore show that the fear is still very real. But so is the fun.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a curious newcomer, Bloodlines is a deadly good time with just the right amount of humor, heart, and horror.
