Netflix is set to premiere the first season of “Rising Impact,” an anime adaptation of Nakaba Suzuki’s beloved manga, in June 2024, with the second season following in August. The announcement brings joy to fans who have cherished Suzuki’s work since the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The story revolves around Gawain Nanaumi, a passionate baseball-loving third-grader. A chance encounter with professional golfer Kiria Nishino introduces him to golf as a sport that can maximize his ability to hit a ball. With the goal of becoming the world’s best professional golfer, Gawain enrolls in Camelot Academy, where he faces challenges from other golf prodigies.
Nakaba Suzuki, the creator of “Rising Impact” and the renowned “The Seven Deadly Sins,” expressed his excitement, stating, “I never imagined that, after 25 years, my debut work would be adapted into an anime on Netflix! The production team meticulously recreated the illustrations, demonstrating an extraordinary love for this project. The artwork and direction are simply outstanding, and the voice actors delivered performances that perfectly matched the characters.”
The teaser trailer reveals a star-studded voice cast, including Misaki Kuno as Gawain, Yumiri Hanamori as Lancelot Normal, You Taichi as Kiria Nishino, and more. The characters, each with their unique skills, promise to bring Suzuki’s vision vividly to life.
Directed by Hitoshi Nanba, with Michihiro Tsuchiya as the screenwriter, Kiyotaka Oshiyama leading character design, and Masaru Yokoyama composing the musical score, “Rising Impact” is a collaboration between Suzuki and the talented team at Lay-duce. The anime promises to capture the essence of Suzuki’s manga, blending friendship, hard work, and the pursuit of excellence.
Fans worldwide can anticipate an exhilarating golfing adventure as “Rising Impact” tees off on Netflix, continuing Suzuki’s legacy in the world of anime.
