Sadie Sink did not have to audition to win a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

According to the latest Nylon Magazine interview, the Stranger Things star received the offer without an audition because she had previously worked with the director, Destin Daniel Cretton, on The Glass Castle (2017). In addition, she said she did not receive a script until she arrived in London to begin filming.

Marvel Studios has been keeping its character a secret, which has given rise to numerous fan theories about it. There is speculation in the fandom that Sink may play a young Jean Grey; however, the production has yet to comment on the matter.

Speaking about becoming part of the MCU, Sadie Sink noted that it was different from everything she had done before, even though she had already spent nearly 10 years on Stranger Things. “I knew Marvel was a big deal, but it feels really big. These blockbuster movies are a whole different beast,” she told Nylon.

Additionally, Sink expressed gratitude to Tom Holland, her Brand New Day castmate, who helped her adjust to the environment. According to the actress, she was an outsider when she began shooting, while Holland and other people involved in the production have been very accommodating and friendly.

Talking about how she manages to keep her role a secret, Sadie Sink said it has become easier over the years thanks to her experience with Stranger Things. “You just don’t share the secret; it’s not that hard,” she commented.

It should be mentioned that Sadie Sink shot both the movie and her play Romeo & Juliet, staged at the West End. In the latter, she starred as Juliet opposite Noah Jupe under the direction of Robert Icke. Among the stars of Spider-Man: Brand New Day are Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Bernthal, and the film is expected to hit theaters on July 31st.
