Sarah Jayne Dunn, the former British soap star who left Hollyoaks in 2021 after falling out with its producers over her adult content-based OnlyFans account, has openly declared her wish to restart her acting career.
The actress, now 44, broke the news to her fans in an Instagram post featuring several slides in which she reflected on her absence from both the small and large screens.
“I haven’t been on screen in over 4 years, but that doesn’t mean I stopped wanting it,” she wrote.
Dunn highlighted the challenges she would face getting back into show business at age 44, describing the venture as “exciting and terrifying.”
“This industry moves fast, and stepping back into it as a woman in her 40s? That takes a different kind of confidence,” she said, adding that being a middle-aged actress would have its benefits too.
“Experience, depth, and stories that couldn’t have been told before,” she noted.
Her exit from Hollyoaks was due to demands from the show’s producers that she close her adult-only website, which she did not do. Instead, Dunn continued posting on OnlyFans and worked as a professional pole dancing instructor.
Writing to casting directors and producers, Dunn appealed: “If you are casting, creating or reading this… I’m here.” She concluded the post saying that “scared, excited, unsure, but I think I’m ready.”
Dunn became known to audiences as Mandy Richardson on Hollyoaks.
