Slidell High School Teacher Alexa Wingerter Arrested For Sexual Misconduct With Student

Earlier this morning, Slidell Police arrested Alexa Wingerter, a 35-year-old teacher at Slidell High School, following a comprehensive investigation into allegations of inappropriate relationships with students.

The investigation began in early March after complaints surfaced regarding Wingerter’s conduct with male students. Reports indicated that she had been sending inappropriate photographs and messages via text and social media platforms.

Over the past month, Slidell Police investigators conducted numerous interviews and executed several search warrants. They uncovered sufficient evidence to confirm that Wingerter engaged in an inappropriate and sexual relationship with at least one 18-year-old male student, leveraging her position as an educator. Additionally, evidence showed that Wingerter was purchasing alcohol for students at local bars in Slidell.

As a result of these findings, a warrant was issued for Wingerter’s arrest under L.R.S. 14:81.4 (Prohibited Sexual Conduct Between an Educator and Student) and 14:93.13 (Unlawful Purchase of Alcoholic Beverages on Behalf of Persons Under 21).
