Meadow Eads, a social media influencer, has accused Sophie Rain of stealing her Halloween costume videos. In one of her TikTok videos, Eads says larger creators must be held accountable when they copy content from smaller creators without credit.

According to Eads, Rain and the Bop House, a group of creators, saved her Fortnite character videos and reproduced the costumes she made, replicating the same ideas but with more effort.

“Sophie Rain and the bop house, took all of my Fortnite characters that I made, save my videos, and then made the same exact things, except they did it better, because obviously they have the funds to do that,” Eads said.

The costumes were a part of the Halloween series which she was posting to grow her followers.

“I’ve been doing a 30 Days of Halloween costume series, trying to blow up as a smaller creator, and it’s so much harder being a smaller creator,” she said. “And then a larger creator just comes in, takes all of your ideas and your videos and copies them exactly, and does a bunch of the same dances that you did, and then they blow up, and then it hurts my algorithm, my videos don’t do as good, and I don’t care that my videos didn’t do as good, because obviously that’s gonna happen. It’s just frustrating to see that they’re taking my content.”

Eads claims she wasn’t given credit for the ideas and that her message went unacknowledged.

“They didn’t tag me; they didn’t say inspiration from anything. I even DM them; I didn’t get a reply at all,” she said.

She describes this as common for creators with smaller followings.

“This is constantly happening to smaller creators all the time from larger creators. And I think we need to hold larger creators accountable for taking smaller creators’ ideas as inspiration and not tagging them, not giving them credit,” Eads said.

Eads pointed out that she personally made and purchased all the costumes in the series.

“It just hurts, especially as a smaller creator, because I did put so much time and effort to all of these costumes. I did everything myself. I bought everything myself. I made my star one myself, and it took a lot of time, a lot of money, a lot of effort. And I did not get any credit, any tag, any inspiration, even after I sent a DM,” she said.

She ends her video by dismissing the dispute while making her point again.

“At the end of the day, I don’t really care. It’s just content creation. This does happen all the time. But I do think the bigger creators should be held accountable,” Eads said. “Thanks for watching. Love, y’all. Bye.”

It seems like Rain responded to this accusation by making another TikTok video. The caption of this video reads: “wdym a girl has one sided beef with me because i apparently stole o her halloween costume?”
