SZA’s ‘SOS’ album spent a fourth week at #1 on the Billboard 200, with 125,000 units earned.
‘SOS’ by SZA is officially the first female R&B album of the century to spend its first four weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200.
It becomes the first R&B album by a woman to spend its first four weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since ‘Janet.’ by Janet Jackson in 1993.
‘SOS’ is the first R&B album by a woman to spend four weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since ‘As I Am’ by Alicia Keys in 2008.
SZA also rewrote history with streaming platforms. Her hit song, “Kill Bill,” becomes the first solo song by a black woman to spend 25 days at #1 on the US Spotify chart. It’s the first solo song by a black woman to spend 20 days at #1 on the global Apple Music chart.
While ‘SOS’ is doing tremendously well, SZA’s debut album “Ctrl” becomes the first album by a black female artist in history to spend 290 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200.

SZA debunks fan rumors of ‘beef’ with Taylor Swift amidst the chart battle between ‘SOS’ and ‘Midnights’:
“I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing!”

‘SOS’ currently leads with 118k units while ‘Midnights’ is at 116.5k units, according to HITS Daily Double.

After SZA responded to a fan who’s urging her to send “Kill Bill” to the radio after “Nobody Gets Me” was pulled from the impact date lineup:
“go beg them and Tell them I sent you 🥹 dead a**”
RCA’s Instagram page got flooded with comments by SZA’s fans demanding that they send “Kill Bill” to the radio.
“Kill Bill” and “Nobody Gets Me” by SZA have now impacted US pop radio.
The promotion is described as “next level” with support from several big chains and major market stations.
She released the music video for “Nobody Gets Me” and dropped a teaser trailer for “Kill Bill” last week on Instagram.
SZA’s ‘SOS’ album spent a third week at #1 on the Billboard 200, with a further 128,000 units earned. It became the first R&B album by a woman to spend three weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since Beyonce’s ‘BEYONCÉ’ in 2013.
“SOS” is currently projected to remains at #1 on next week’s Billboard 200 with 113K units sold.

SZA announces the Kill Bill video is coming & posts a teaser. The R&B star uploaded the teaser video for the music video on Instagram less than an hour ago. Her caption said, “It’s what y’all deserve.” The music video will be the second one released since she dropped her sophomore album. SZA released “Nobody Gets Me” visuals on December 9th.
The announcement comes right after “Kill Bill” became the first non-single in history to spend a whole week at #1 on Global Spotify. The single is now the longest-running #1 hit by a female artist on the U.S. Spotify chart this year, surpassing Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero”. The single is also challenging for the #1 spot in next week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. It would mark her first chart-topper. Kill Bill became the fastest R&B song by a female artist in Spotify history to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify.
SZA’s ‘SOS’ is currently projected to remain at #1 on next week’s Billboard 200 with 118K units sold. It’s already the first album by a black female artist to spend its first two weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since “BEYONCÉ”. It’s the second female album released this year with multiple weeks at #1.
“SOS” has surpassed 1.6 billion streams on Spotify, being the fastest female R&B album to reach this milestone on the platform. SZA has now surpassed 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time in her career.

SZA’s new album ‘SOS’ is projected to debut at #1 on the US albums chart with 275-300K units. It will mark SZA’s first-ever #1 album and a major increase compared to first-week sales of her debut album ‘Ctrl,’ which clocked in at 60,000 copies.
“SOS” holds the record for the biggest debut for an R&B album on Spotify, with 70 million streams. She is the only Black female artist to have three solo songs reach #1 on the US Spotify Chart. SZA’s “SOS” becomes the 6th female album in Spotify history to occupy the Top 10 singles chart of the US Spotify. “SOS” has now surpassed 1 BILLION streams on Spotify. It becomes SZA’s 2nd album to reach this milestone and her fastest.
All 23 tracks from SZA’s new album, ‘SOS’, chart in the top 30 of US Apple Music. She breaks the record for most simultaneous top 30 hits on the chart for a female artist. “SOS” had the biggest debut day for any female album on Apple Music US, with over 50 million streams. The album becomes the 5th female album in Apple Music history to occupy the Top 10 singles chart of Apple Music US.
