After a heated discussion on social media, a teenager got shot to death in rural Missouri, and a woman got injured.

The deceased man agreed to meet up in a park to fight with another man, which ended up being; the scene of the shooting, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

The man reportedly took a bullet to the face and died at the scene. A female victim who sustained other serious injuries got taken to the hospital. She was reportedly in critical condition and had surgery yesterday.

Local media got informed by Chief Jim McMillen that the two men involved were coordinating a fight after exchanging words on social media.

While two other vehicles arrived with about five additional people inside, one vehicle, with four people inside, waited, according to Mcmillen. After that, both cars started shooting at each other.

The weapons used in this included several different rifles and a few pistols, according to McMillen. The AK-47-style rifle fired numerous rounds at a Chevy Malibu, according to court documents obtained by KVFS.

According to KFVS, 20-year-old Tanner Watkins and 18-year-old Kaleb M. Ramsey were arrested and charged with the murder of Isaiah Fitzgerald. They got charged with three counts of assault, four counts of using a weapon without a permit, and armed criminal action.

The hearing date is May 8th, and the men are being held without posting a bond.

The incident reportedly occurred after Isaiah Fitzgerald’s laughing emoji response to Tanner Watkins and his girlfriend’s profile picture, which became an online argument that resulted in Fitzgerald’s death at the age of 18.

Watkins responded to Fitzgerald’s laughing emoji on his Facebook post:

“What’s funny?”Watkins asked. “Tryna get some bread, huh? An[d] sht, idk, you the one on my dock,” Watkins wrote. He continued, “Nah, you always on some funny sht. The fck you even react to my sht for, anyways?” “I’m ready though.” Watkins ended the comment with a target emoji and a thumbs-up.

Fitzgerald responded by saying, “I seen Alissa onnit why would I not.” Tanner replied, “Isiah Fitzgerald tf that got to do wit it. You feel sum type way? That’s my shorty n it’s all smoke behind her too. You got me confused for the wrong nigga watch n see.” Fitzgerald responded, “My bad lan know I got the wrong wigga,” because Watkins is a white man who uses the n-word.
