Taylor Swift has once again made history. Her latest album, ‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT,’ has now become her longest-running #1 album on the Billboard 200, surpassing the previous records held by ‘Fearless’ and ‘1989.’ This monumental achievement marks the album’s 12th consecutive week at the top of the charts.
Not only has Swift surpassed her personal best, but she has also set a new industry milestone. ‘THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT’ is the first album by a female artist to spend its first 12 weeks of release at #1 on the Billboard 200. This breaks the previous record held by Whitney Houston’s ‘Whitney,’ which spent 11 weeks at #1 upon its release in 1987.
In addition to these remarkable feats, Taylor Swift continues to extend her record as the soloist with the most cumulative weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200, now totaling 81 weeks. This accomplishment cements her status as a dominant force in the music industry, showcasing her enduring popularity and the strong connection she has with her fans.
