Netflix’s first Chinese-language series to be renewed, The Victims’ Game, has unveiled its highly-anticipated second season with a chilling new trailer. Set to premiere on June 21, this season promises a series of gruesome serial crimes, with each victim suffering the horrific fate of having an organ violently removed.

Returning to the heart of the story is forensic detective Fang Yi-jen, portrayed by Chang Hsiao-chuan. Fang’s journey takes a dark turn as he finds himself a prime suspect in multiple murder cases, including the throat-slitting death of pop singer Yuan Chi-ling and a case involving his mentor from 15 years ago. With mounting evidence against him, Fang is desperate to clear his name, leading viewers through a labyrinth of shocking twists and turns. “To understand Fang’s transformation from a genius detective to a prime suspect, I had to set aside my emotions and rely on logic, just as someone who is looking to clear his name would,” Chang shared. “The most challenging part about this season was portraying his suppressed emotions, and I cannot thank my co-actors enough for their help with this.”

Adding to the intrigue, the trailer reveals the acting debut of Golden Melody award-winning singer Karencici as Yuan Chi-ling, the first murder victim. “I first joined The Victims’ Game as the singer of its end credit song, and now I’m delighted to be a part of the second season as an actor. It’s been a completely different experience for me,” Karencici said.

The new season features a talented ensemble cast including Tseng Jing-hua (At the Moment, Your Name Engraved Herein), rising stars Buffy Chen (Wave Makers), Liu Tzu-chuan (On Children), and more. They join returning stars Hsu Wei-ning (Shards of Her, Man in Love), Wang Shih-hsien, Tarcy Su, Dean Fujioka, Moon Lee, Lau Chun-him Terrance (At the Moment), and Chang Tsai-hsing.

The production team is led by executive producer Hank Tseng, producers Phil Tang and Hsu Kuo-lun, and directors David Chuang and Chen Kuan-chung, promising a season filled with intricate storytelling and suspense.

The Victims’ Game: Season 2 premieres June 21, exclusively on Netflix. Get ready for a spine-chilling ride into the depths of forensic investigation and human emotion.
