Two Models Found Dead In Their DTLA Apartment

Authorities have confirmed that two models were discovered deceased in their upscale downtown Los Angeles residences in the past week.

The L.A. Police Department is currently investigating the death of Maleesa Mooney, 31, on September 12th as a murder.

In contrast, the LAPD and the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner have stated that the death of Nichole Coats, a 32-year-old model, on September 10th is not being treated as a homicide.

What’s going on in the Maleesa Mooney death investigation?

The LAPD is conducting a murder investigation into Mooney’s death. Her body was discovered by officers on Tuesday afternoon when they responded to a radio call for a welfare check at her apartment.

The cause of Mooney’s death is still unknown, awaiting a postmortem examination. The department is asking the public for help in identifying the individual or individuals accountable for her demise.

What happened to Nichole Coats?

According to Sharon Coats, Nichole’s mother, who informed KTLA that the scene where her daughter died was both bloody and gruesome.

Coats’ aunt, May Stevens, expressed that she couldn’t recognize her niece when her lifeless body was discovered inside her apartment in Downtown Los Angeles. Stevens strongly believes it was a murder, after claiming her niece’s body had one leg raised in a kicking position, indicating that she did not simply pass away while lying in bed.

Lt. Ricardo Lopez from the coroner’s office disclosed that they currently do not have a cause of death for Nichole Coats. Additionally, it remains uncertain if there is any connection between the two fatalities.
