HBO is set to captivate audiences with its upcoming original limited series, “The Sympathizer,” debuting on Sunday, April 14th, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. This seven-episode espionage thriller, co-showrun and executive produced by Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar, promises a gripping narrative based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
The logline of the series sets the stage for an intriguing journey: “The Sympathizer” delves into the struggles of a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War. The narrative takes a bold turn as the protagonist begins a new life as a refugee in Los Angeles, only to discover that his days of espionage are far from over.
