The white man who shot and killed an unarmed Black man in front of his children over a parking dispute was found guilty of manslaughter. He faces 30 years in prison.
Police originally opted not to charge him, saying he was protected by Florida’s “stand your ground” law.
“Stand your ground” laws allow people to use deadly force if they feel like their life is threatened.
White shooters are 281% more likely to be cleared by such laws than other people.
The total lack of respect and decency for humanity that Americans have is utterly abhorrent. Add to that the fact they are so openly racist when implementing these laws and its seriously one of the most disgusting things about what should be a very likeable country.
