Peyton O’Brien shared a video where she criticized women defending Lindsay Clancy, another participant in the online debate on the trial against the Massachusetts woman accused of murder.
According to O’Brien, she disapproves of increased social media support for Clancy, who blames the killings on postpartum illness, which, in her opinion, negatively affects all women.
“You guys can keep blowing up my comments with this whole, oh, well, men commit 90% of violent crimes, and men do this and men do that,” O’Brien said. “When a man rapes a woman or murders his children, you don’t have a group of men wearing blue rallying outside the courthouse saying, it wasn’t him, he wasn’t in his right state of mind. It was his testosterone. You don’t see men, oh, well, he had PTSD, so it wasn’t him. He’s the victim. No, you don’t see that, okay?”
O’Brien believes that women’s reactions to the case are different.
“Women are coming on here and saying, oh, well, yeah, Lindsay Clancy just murdered her kids because of postpartum and her hormones,” she said. “Do you know how bad that makes women look? And you know how bad a thousand, a million women coming on here defending Lindsay Clancy saying, I am Lindsay Clancy. We have literally been trying to prove to men for years that our hormones do not affect our capacity to make decisions or whatever else. But now you guys are all coming on here saying, actually, it might make you kill your kids, though. That is what I have a problem with.”
O’Brien said that she is for mental health care for new moms, but this case is not included in it.
“Mental health is real. Women need mental health support, but the line is drawn once you kill all three of your kids,” O’Brien said. “And when men murder their families, there’s not a whole group of men standing outside a courthouse wearing blue saying, ‘Oh, we stand with him. He’s a victim. He was neglected by the medical field, because he had a mental illness and he needed help, and no one helped him. That doesn’t happen. That is my whole point.”
According to the creator, commenters do not blame Clancy directly.
“The fact that there are so many women on here, you guys can’t just say, you know what? Yeah, she’s evil, and she killed her kid, like, postpartum does not make you do that. That is my problem,” she said. “You women are making us look so bad. You’re sending us back 100 years. We’ve been trying to prove to men since the beginning of time that our hormones do not affect our ability to be leaders or strong women or good mothers. But now we have a whole entire bunch of feminists coming on here saying, oh, but actually you might kill your kids, though, because of postpartum, cause, like, your hormones and stuff, that is making us look terrible. And I don’t understand how women don’t realize what you guys are pushing out.”
O’Brien believes that women can lead, and the reaction is negative.
“I don’t think that women aren’t capable of being strong leaders. I know for a fact that we are,” O’Brien continued. “But then when you have thousands of women coming on here saying, oh, actually, no, no, your hormones do affect you, and they might just make you kill your children, you are not realizing the damage that that’s actually doing to women overall.”
According to her, such reactions will provoke a backlash against women’s rights.
“And then you get flooded with comments about appeal the 19th Amendment. Women shouldn’t have custody of their kids. And a whole year after birth, and then you guys wonder why men are saying that,” she said. “It’s because of the way you guys are reacting to a woman killing her kids and what you guys are saying and the excuses you are making. There’s no excuse for murdering your three children. There’s not. Mental health is real. Women need postpartum support. Lindsay Clancy is not the poster child for that. She’s just not. She’s an evil person who strangled all three of her kids.”
O’Brien argued that Clancy had all necessary resources, unlike many other women.
“She was upper class. She had every medical. Every medical, whatever she needed. She had access to therapy, hospitals, postpartum care. All of that. She had access to it all. That is my whole point,” she said. “This is not the woman we should be giving attention to. There are so many women out there that actually don’t have any support and need help, and you guys couldn’t care less about those women. That’s what I have a problem with.”

Lindsay Clancy, 36, pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility in the murders of her three children, Cora (5), Dawson (3), and Callan (8 months), in January 2023. According to Clancy’s lawyers, she strangled them after losing touch with reality due to postpartum psychosis. At the same time, prosecutors claim that Clancy knew what she was doing and decided to kill her kids before hurting herself. Both sides agree that Clancy had a mental illness during the incident.
Clancy is partially paralyzed due to her suicide attempt and has remained hospitalized since 2023. If she is found guilty, she will face life in prison. At the same time, the prosecution might ask the court to have her committed to a psychiatric facility in case Clancy is found not criminally responsible.
Public protests, as O’Brien noted, surrounded Clancy’s case. A pink-clad group of women came outside the Plymouth courthouse last week to support Clancy. The jurors finished the second day of their deliberation on Friday without reaching a verdict.
