Last Friday, officials took a Colombian woman into custody who they believe was attempting to bring cocaine and a synthetic drug into the South Penitentiary in Mexico City while visiting an inmate.

Security personnel working at the prison reportedly arrested the woman, Estefana Munera, on the grounds that they had found almost 10 grams of cocaine, a quantity of 2CB, which is a synthetic psychedelic drug and commonly known as “Tusi” or “pink cocaine”, hidden within her person during the inspection process.

Officials state that Munera was visiting with her boyfriend, Israel Ramirez, a current inmate of the facility, in Dormitory 8. The narcotics were confiscated, and Munera was arrested while further investigation is being conducted.

No further details regarding potential charges were released, nor was any indication given as to whether others were involved. The investigation continues.
