Yung Filly Breaks His Silence After Pleading Not Guilty to Sexual Assault Charges

UK YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, born Andrés Felipé Barrientos, has formally pleaded not guilty to a series of serious charges, including multiple counts of sexual assault and bodily harm. The charges stem from an alleged incident that took place during his 2024 Australian tour, where a woman in her 20s accused him of assaulting her in his hotel room just hours after his performance in Perth.

Despite the gravity of the accusations, Barrientos maintained a strikingly nonchalant demeanor when confronted by reporters outside the courthouse, offering an almost flippant greeting before swiftly departing in a waiting vehicle.

The Allegations and Initial Arrest

The accusations first surfaced in early October 2024 when a woman came forward to Western Australia Police, alleging that Barrientos had sexually assaulted her following his tour’s opening night on September 27 at Bar1 nightclub in Perth. Authorities launched an investigation that ultimately led to his extradition from Queensland to Perth, where he was taken into custody.

On October 10, Barrientos appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court, where his legal team successfully secured bail. His release came with strict conditions and required him to post a substantial bond of 100,000 Australian dollars, equivalent to approximately $62,985 USD.

Additional Legal Troubles Amid Pending Trial

As if facing multiple sexual assault charges was not enough, Barrientos further found himself entangled in legal trouble after being caught driving at an alarming 159 kilometers per hour in a 100-kilometer-per-hour zone. This reckless speeding incident resulted in the immediate impoundment of his vehicle, adding yet another stain to his already deteriorating public image.

Despite his legal battles, the rapper has continued to conduct himself with an air of detachment, seemingly unfazed by the severe allegations threatening to derail his career.

Formal Court Appearance and Charges

On March 11, 2025, Barrientos returned to court, where he officially entered a plea of not guilty to a range of serious charges, including:

  • Three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm
  • One count of strangulation
  • Four counts of sexual penetration without consent

These charges paint a deeply disturbing picture of the alleged events that took place on the night in question. The court has scheduled his next hearing for June 13, 2025, leaving several months before the case moves forward.

Public Reaction and Industry Fallout

The allegations against Barrientos sent immediate shockwaves through the UK entertainment and YouTube communities. As one of the most recognizable figures in the British online sphere, his fall from grace has been both swift and severe.

Following the charges, his highly anticipated live show with longtime collaborator Chunkz was abruptly canceled. Many of his industry peers, some of whom had been close friends, distanced themselves from him, offering only vague statements about waiting for the “final verdict” before addressing the situation.

This dramatic shift in public perception is a stark contrast to the near-universal adoration Barrientos once enjoyed. His brand, built on charisma and humor, is now overshadowed by a scandal that threatens to permanently alter the trajectory of his career.

A Telling Response to Paparazzi

Following his court appearance, paparazzi eagerly awaited a statement from Barrientos as he exited the courthouse. Instead of addressing the severity of the situation or offering even a hint of remorse, he chose to respond with an almost absurd level of nonchalance.

“Good afternoon,” he said casually. “Enjoy the weather, man, it’s a lovely day.”

The remark, seemingly detached from the seriousness of his legal predicament, only fueled further speculation about his mindset as he prepares for what could be a lengthy and highly publicized legal battle.

What Comes Next

As Barrientos remains out on bail, the case against him continues to build momentum. The June 13 hearing will likely provide further clarity on the legal strategies employed by both the prosecution and the defense. Given the severity of the charges, he faces the very real possibility of a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.

For now, the world watches as the former social media darling fights to defend himself against accusations that could permanently alter not only his career but his entire life. Whether he will emerge from this scandal unscathed remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the days of Yung Filly as a carefree entertainer appear to be over.
