A 20-year-old Twitch streamer, Summayah, has responded to those commenting on her relationship with rapper NoCap, 27, by likening the seven-year age difference to audiences’ attraction to vampire characters.
In a video from her recent Twitch stream, Summayah stood up to her critics and suggested that those who swoon over vampires (which the series is written to portray as approximately a millennium old) cannot truly have an issue with her seven-year age gap with her partner. “How many of y’all was attracted to the vampires?”
Summayah asked, referring to The Twilight Saga and The Vampire Diaries franchises. “Y’all do know vampires are like 1,000 years old, right? So there’s nothing wrong with my age gap with my man.” She finished by telling everyone to mind their business.
Many users in the replies section thought her vampire logic made no sense.
“She thought this made sense? We were fantasizing about fictional creatures vs. A 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old girl, a real-life consensual relationship,” one user stated.
Another tweeted, “This woman is justifying the grooming of 20-year-olds. When this woman was 14, he was 21. This age gap is insane. Let parents raise their children.”
Since both individuals are of legal age and in their 20s, nothing technically stands between them; however, the clip highlighted differing ideas about the maturity required for dating.
