White Woman Raised Around Conservatives Calls White Guilt A Myth: ‘White People Do Not Regret Anything’

Kylie Brewer, in her TikTok video, says that the concept of white guilt is nothing but a myth created by conservatives since it provides them with a way to evade teaching the history of racism in the country.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but white guilt is a conservative psyop. It doesn’t exist,” Brewer stated.

As someone who grew up among many conservative whites, she has never seen any sign of regret.

“I can tell you, as someone who is white, who is raised around a lot of conservative white people, white people do not regret anything,” she said. “There is no sense of guilt. Those white people are equally racist, and that gets passed down from parent to child.”

That is why there is racism, according to her.

“There is no self-reflection, and that is why racism continues to be so pervasive, because most of the real, real racists don’t even think that that’s what they are,” Brewer said.

Moreover, she criticized those conservative commentators who argue that white children should not be held accountable for the wrongdoings of previous generations.

“So it’s so funny, because you’ll see conservative commentators say things like, oh, we don’t want our white kids to be punished for the sins of our ancestors,” she said. “It’s like, you don’t even care even if that was the case. White guilt doesn’t exist.”

This statement by Kylie Brewer is related to the national discussion of how to teach race and slavery in U.S. schools. Several states have passed laws limiting race discussions in class. Supporters of such laws claim they are needed to protect students from feeling guilty for the actions of previous generations, while opponents say they hinder honest teaching.

Brewer claims the argument is used as an excuse to avoid teaching parts of American history.

“And it’s just a way for you to try to cover up history and say, oh, well, white children don’t need to know about all this stuff because it’s gonna hurt their feelings,” she said. “It’s so that you have an excuse in your mind to bury the truth about what happened in this country, from slavery to sharecropping to the school-to-prison pipeline to the way the incarceration system is literally enslaving Black people even today.”

Brewer wants to change how people see the problem and educate her audience.

“And that’s why I’m trying to change people’s minds and educate people because again, this is not something that is even real,” she said. “The best thing that we could do is come to terms with the fact that this history happened instead of trying to bury it because that’s how history gets repeated.”
