Outside of making a name for himself as a Model and Actor, Acy Brown has a very inspirational story of how he started over in life at the age of 49 to pursue his dreams in fitness entrepreneurship. In Brown’s generation you work your 9-5 for 20+ years with the hopes of retiring. For him that was the case for 30 years until one day he woke up and took the leap of faith. Despite his age, he believed that it’s never too late to go after what you want in life.
In 2018 Brown launched his company Acy Brown Lyfestyle Collection which is a successful fitness collection. The company immediately took off as it was a go-to for comfortable, affordable and stylish fitness clothing. Majority of the orders started coming from Louisiana, where he resides but he now receives orders form more than 35 states and 6 countries. His first month in business he generated 20,000 in income through target marketing and to date he has earned more than 240,000 in revenue his first year in business.
After graduating from Grambling State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting in 1991, he spent the next several years working in corporate America. One day he woke up and said he couldn’t do it anymore. He began researching how to start a successful clothing line and read books on clothing production. He’s a self-taught, successful fashion designer at the age of 50. There were definitely challenges through this process for him and a lot of trial and error. He now spends him time helping emerging designers learn from his mistakes and mentors them with the business side of fashion.
Just a year into his business, Brown now makes almost 3 times as much as he made working in Corporate America. He uses his social media platform to inspire others and lead by example that it’s never too late to go after your dreams. He wants people to know that if you step out on faith then your imagination can match your reality.
