Hulu has revealed the cast for its next coming-of-age comedy film, “Prom Dates,” which will be released this spring. The film, directed by Kim O. Nguyen and written by D.J. Mausner, stars Julia Lester and Antonia Gentry in the key roles, with a superb supporting ensemble that includes Kenny Ridwan, JT Neal, Jordan Buhat, Zión Moreno, Terry Hu, John Michael Higgins, and Chelsea Handler.

“Prom Dates” tells the story of Jess and Hannah, best friends who formed a pact at the age of 13 to have the perfect senior prom. As the duo confronts the approaching changes that college life will bring, their devotion to keeping the prom agreement is tested. With only 24 hours till the big event, their world crumbles when they split up with their different dates. Now, Jess and Hannah must navigate a single night to land new partners and realize their middle-school aspirations.

The film is another jewel in the relationship between American High and Hulu Originals, which has produced critical and consumer triumphs like “Big Time Adolescence,” “Plan B,” and “It’s a Wonderful Binge.” “Prom Dates” is Hulu’s eighth installment from its original first-look slate contract with American High.

Producers Jeremy Garelick, Will Phelps, Molle DeBartolo (American High), Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, Luke Kelly-Clyne (Hartbeat), Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon (LD Entertainment) are in charge behind the scenes.

Kevin Healey, Thai Randolph (Hartbeat), Michael Glassman (LD Entertainment), D.J. Mausner, and Andrew Reyes serve as executive producers, with Jason Zaro as Hulu’s co-producer and Axelle Azoulay as associate producer.

As “Prom Dates” approaches, viewers can explore Hulu’s existing library, which includes critically regarded films such as “I Love My Dad,” “Banana Split,” and “Mark, Mary & Some Other People,” all of which are accessible for streaming. With an established track record, Hulu’s partnership with American High continues to produce fascinating and entertaining original programming.
