The Mar del Plata International Film Festival announced today that Burning patience, Netflix’s first Chilean film, will be part of the festival’s programming in its 37th edition to be held between November 3rd and 13th in Mar del Plata. , Argentina.
Burning patience tells the story of Mario (Andrew Bargsted), the son of a fisherman who becomes the postman of Isla Negra, where he meets the poet Pablo Neruda (Claudio Arredondo) and with whom he strikes up a deep friendship. With her help, Mario will begin to learn poetry and create new verses to try to conquer Beatriz (Vivianne Dietz), the woman of his dreams.
The film, directed by Rodrigo Sepúlveda (I’m afraid of a bullfighter, Aurora, Our Father), will be presented in the Galas category, which brings together a selection of the best international films out of the competition. After its screening at the festival, Burning Patience will have its world premiere this December 7 on Netflix.
