A teacher from Western Australia has reportedly confessed to abusing a teenage student and giving birth to a child with the teenager. The teacher pleaded guilty to various charges of sex offenses.
Naomi Craig, a 33-year-old teacher from Western Australia, pleaded guilty to the charges of indecent dealing with a child in court on Tuesday. The charges against her include 15 counts of indecent dealing with a child and various charges of sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13. The teacher abused a male student who was 12 years old when the abuse started in August 2024.
The teacher pleaded guilty to all the charges against her. Her case was fast-tracked to the District Court for a sentence mention that is scheduled for March 27. The teacher appeared by audio link in the Mandurah Magistrates Court. Police believe that the teacher gave birth to the child of the boy she abused after the abuse. The teacher gave birth to the child in January this year. Police Commissioner Col Blanch said that DNA tests were conducted on the child after the teacher gave birth. Police think that the child of the teacher is the son of the boy she abused.
The teacher was placed on bail, subject to various conditions. The teacher is not allowed to have any contact with the boy she abused. The teacher is also not allowed to have unsupervised contact with children, except for her child, who was born on January 8 this year. The teacher did not have to appear in court because of a medical condition. However, the teacher will not be excused from appearing in court in the future.
The teacher was initially charged with four offenses in December. The teacher was charged with additional crimes last week and again this week. The teacher is now charged with a total of 15 offenses. The teacher is charged with five violations of sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13.
Naomi Craig is also charged with persistent sexual conduct with a child under the age of 16. The teacher is also accused of possession of child exploitation material. Police said that the teacher had ongoing sexual conduct with the student while she was working as a teacher in a school in the Mandurah area.
