A Brazilian fitness influencer died early Friday morning after losing control of her motorbike and crashing into the retaining wall in Manaus, Brazil, according to the authorities.
30-year-old Larissa da Silva Machado died around 5:30 a.m. Friday morning, after her Honda CG 160 Titan motorbike veered off the lower ramp of the viaduct and crashed into the wall. She was flung several meters away from the motorbike, which resulted in fatal injuries to her head.
Just before her accident, da Silva Machado had posted an Instagram photo from her night out with her friends, who were photographed with her in a black dress as they went out on what turned out to be her final night out.
Da Silva Machado’s motorbike accident was witnessed by her friends, who were driving behind her in a car. One of the people in the car alerted da Silva Machado’s mother, who rushed to the scene of the accident. The police had to hold back the mother as she tried to get close to her daughter’s lifeless body, shouting, “Let me see my daughter, let me go, I want to see my daughter.”
Da Silva Machado’s motorbike was destroyed as a result of the accident. The Manaus police cordoned off the accident scene and began an investigation, reviewing closed-circuit television footage to determine the circumstances of the accident.
Da Silva Machado had about 20,000 Instagram followers at the time of her death, and she posted fitness tips and information about the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. She was also known for her support for the Corinthians football club.
