Christian Hall was a 19-year-old Chinese American teenager, adopted before his first birthday by his parents. On December 30, 2020, he was experiencing a mental health emergency when Pennsylvania State Police were called to help de-escalate the crisis.

Instead, they shot Christian seven times, killing him. Police claim Christian pointed a gun at them; however, a video shows that his hands were up in the air, posing no threat to the armed officers.

Monroe County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Mancuso ruled Christian Hall’s murder by Pennsylvania state police as justified.

“The ultimate conclusion, the use against Christian Hall of deadly force by members of the Pennsylvania State Police was justified under the circumstances due to Hall’s actions which presented an imminent risk of death or serious bodily injury,” Mancuso said.

Investigators revealed Hall was suicidal. He left suicidal notes and messages on social media, including on the day. The investigators claim, Hall asked troopers on the overpass if they were “trained to shoot” and to “make it quick.” This still wouldn’t give them the right to take his life but this is America.
