Diamond White has kissed a man, kissed a mannequin, been mentored by Britney Spears, and voiced a fireball of a genius kid for years, and she is just getting warmed up.
The singer and actress just dropped her single “Crash Out” and is already dangling a follow-up, “In the Rough,” in front of fans. So is this a full-blown era or just some very effective teasing? White isn’t being coy about it.
“Oh, it’s a new era! My first real rollout. Everyone should be excited! We are so back!” she said.
Long before the singles rollout, White was a teenager on “The X Factor,” mentored by Britney Spears, during a season in which Spears’ attention seemed to drift during White’s elimination performance. Years later, White isn’t holding a grudge. She’s holding gratitude, and she’s spreading it around to the whole judges’ panel.
“A BIG THANK YOU!!! not just to her but to all the judges. They all believed in me,” White said. She remembers judge L.A. Reid telling her she was “the truth,” and Demi Lovato sprinting backstage the night of her elimination just to tell her to never give up. Simon Cowell, of all people, was “so sweet” to her, she said.
As for Spears herself, White gets reflective. “Britney has gone thru so much and even being in the presence of an icon like that i will forever hold near and dear to my heart despite what she was dealing with when the cameras were off. I send my love and prayers to her,” she said.
Diamond White has been playing Lunella Lafayette – the smart and crazy heroine of Disney’s cartoon “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” for years. Now, Lunella is jumping into the gaming arena of “Marvel Rivals” with White again taking the role. It appears that the character did not need to change to play in a game.
“LU is LU. lol she’s a fireball, of course she and the devil fit in any world!!! She will live on forever!” White said.
But there is also the melodramatic part of Diamond White’s work – playing Paris Buckingham in “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The character requires a poker face during the craziest plots. Asked about the craziest scene she had to perform and look serious about, White did not hesitate to tell it.
“KISSING A MAN AND A MANIKIN. HAHAHAHA an amazing experience. I hope to return as Paris some day soon. I love that show,” she said.
Behind the singles, superheroes, and kisses from the manikins, there is the career that began when White was 8 years old, touring in the role of “The Color Purple.” And behind the glamour lies a struggle that taught her the right lesson. Speaking about how much hunger she shows in the studio, White gave her philosophy of life.
“The thing about hard times is that it teaches you to be happy regardless of your situation. Money is nothing without love, and I’ve always loved to sing,” she said.
And after years of kid acting roles, is there anything she wants fans to forget? There is no such thing. She has her own ambition now.
“ALL imma say is…. Moon girl deserves a season 3…….. hehehehe,” she said.
