On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Onyx Collective hosted the red carpet premiere for their first scripted series, a sexy legal drama Reasonable Doubt at NeueHouse in Hollywood. Creator/Executive Producer/Showrunner Raamla Mohamed and Executive Producers Larry Willmore and Pilar Savone with cast Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, Michael Ealy, Tim Jo, Angela Grovey, and Sean Patrick Thomas, attended the red carpet along with co-stars Aderinsola Olabode, Thaddeus J. Mixson, and Co-Executive Producer Shawn Holley.

Event attendees also include Eugene Byrd, Perri Camper, Chris Cassarino, Anthony Chatmon, Tiffany Yvonne Cox, Erin Croom, Paul Fox, Shannon Kane, Brooke Lyons, Victor Rasuk, Nefetari Spencer, Devon Franklin, Tara Duncan, President of Freeform and Onyx Collective, and Hulu President Joe Earley.

“Reasonable Doubt” centers on Los Angeles-based high-powered criminal defense attorney, Jacqueline “Jax” Stewart as she deals with past traumas, a failing marriage, motherhood, and a murder case, all while trying to keep her life together.

The show’s title and each episode title are inspired by Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt and his discography. The show also features contemporary and classic hip-hop, R&B, and neo-soul artists. The series’ music is composed by Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (“Luke Cage”).
