As Los Angeles continues to fight fierce wildfires, actress Halle Berry has stepped in to do her part for the affected families. The 58-year-old Oscar winner recently announced on Instagram that she’s giving away her “entire closet” to needy families. She invited Southern California locals to donate their gently worn items and clothing to help the homeless.

Berry has teamed up with actress Sharon Stone to help with this relief. Donations are being accepted at COOP, a Beverly Hills home goods store that has turned itself into a fire relief pop-up where free clothing will be provided for those who’ve lost their homes in the fires.

She shared a video showing the inside of the store where volunteers are sorting things like blankets and clothes. She said the biggest needs right now are the basics, and encouraged everyone to get involved in the relief effort.

The Los Angeles wildfires have caused significant destruction, consuming over 2,900 acres and remaining uncontained as of January 8. The fires have left numerous homes and buildings without power and resulted in at least two fatalities, with more individuals sustaining significant injuries. The situation remains dire, with thousands displaced and in need of assistance.

Berry’s initiative has inspired other celebrities to contribute. Michelle Pfeiffer expressed interest in participating, commenting on Berry’s post, “Can I do tomorrow?”

The boutique’s founder, Jenna Cooper, has also played a pivotal role by converting her home goods store into a donation center, stating, “My community has nice things so we’re basically giving the shirts off of our back.” The fire relief pop-up, located at 7278 Beverly Blvd, plans to stay open until Sunday, with potential extensions based on need.

Berry’s proactive approach and call to action highlight the importance of community support during times of crisis. Her efforts, alongside those of other concerned citizens, aim to provide immediate relief to families who have lost everything in the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
