Hannah Einbinder has unveiled fun behind-the-scenes footage from the movie “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,” which gained a lot of attention from the audience.
In the video, Einbinder appears blood-stained, wearing a pink crop top with underwear, dancing, posing, and making fun faces against an outdoor filming location. You can notice light rigs and other filming equipment in the background. The video captures the essence of the film, combining elements of a horror movie with glitter, gore, and camp.

The movie was directed and written by Jane Schoenbrun. Einbinder stars as Kris, a queer filmmaker who is invited to reboot the struggling horror series franchise for a new generation. During the reboot process, she meets the original final girl of the series, played by Gillian Anderson. She is reclusive, but somehow her appearance draws Kris into the blood-drenched world of desires, fears, and delirium.
It is Schoenbrun’s third feature film, following “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair” and “I Saw the TV Glow.” It premiered in the Un Certain Regard category of the Cannes Film Festival on May 13. It took home the Queer Palm Award, a festival award given annually since 2010 to a film with an LGBTQ+ or feminist subject matter. Anderson attended the event. The jury commended the film for its soundtrack and “blood-drenched glitter.”
A record of 22 LGBTQ+ films across various festival categories were nominated for the award this year. The jury was presided over by the director Thomas Jolly and the actress Anna Mouglalis.
The 112-minute film also stars Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven. Plan B Entertainment and Mubi produced it. Alex G created the music, and Eric K. Yue did the cinematography.
Mubi distributes the movie. It had its theatrical release in US cinemas on Friday, August 7, and will continue to be released in the UK, Ireland, and other countries.
