The second season of the HBO Original drama series HOUSE OF THE DRAGON has begun production at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom.
The series, which takes place 200 years prior to the events of “Game of Thrones,” is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood.” It tells the story of House Targaryen.

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON successfully implemented a mentorship and shadowing program for production trainees during its first season. HOUSE OF THE DRAGON has once again opened its doors to WBD Access Directors Shadows now that season two filming is in progress. The project will provide B Welby and Ebele Tate, two aspiring directors: the chance to hone their skills and learn from one of the best crews in the business.
The series stars Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham are among the additional cast members who have returned.
George R.R. Martin, executive producer, and co-creator; Ryan Condal, co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer; Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis are the executive producers based on “Fire & Blood” by George R.R. Martin.
