There are more details emerging regarding the investigation into the death of Nolan Wells, who was 18 years old.
A press conference was held, where the family of Wells revealed the results of an independent autopsy carried out on him after his death.
According to the preliminary report, it appears that the forensic pathologist found a possible wound behind the head of Wells, who reportedly had a 12-by-8-inch red discoloration in the soft tissue. In addition, it appears from the report that the cause and manner of his death remain unknown and need further investigation.
The independent autopsy was done by a forensic pathologist known as Dr. Roger Mitchell. Since the body was highly decomposed, it was not possible to tell whether there were any bruises on Wells’ skin. In addition, the report mentions that there were no throat structures because they were reportedly taken away during the initial autopsy for further evaluation.
At the press conference, it emerged that the independent medical examiner cannot rule out foul play at this time.
Finally, the mother of Wells addressed the press as well, where she said that the only thing that she wants to know about is what really happened to her son. She claims that she is being accused of racism even when grieving.
