A TikTok user under the name @roopzthereits states that people who suggest she date someone from her community have described her way of life, which led her to a divorce and which, according to her, undermined her self-respect due to her parents’ words.
This post continues her earlier posts, in which she said her father refused to meet the Black man she dated for several years. In this new post, she says that her first marriage was with an Indian guy whom her parents approved of.
“A lot of people in my comments said that I should just date somebody within my community. The thing is, I married somebody within my community. He was every Indian parents’ dream son-in-law. Perfect on paper, yet I was so miserable. And he was probably miserable too. We ended up getting a divorce,” she says.
She also says that her parents responded to this situation negatively, telling her that because of this divorce, no one would love her anymore.
“My parents told me that because I was getting divorced, nobody is ever gonna love me. No one is ever gonna look at me. I’m washed up. I’m essentially a loser. And that took such a huge toll on my self-esteem and what my future would look like. Because I still wanted to be with a partner,” she says.
This experience made her react differently to her second relationship and choose a man because of reasons other than his racial features.
“I went the route that my parents wanted me to go, and it just wasn’t for me,” she said. “So this time around, I said to myself, I’m not going to live my life for my parents. I wanna live my life for me. And I ended up falling in love with somebody who was outside of my race. It wasn’t like I sought him out specifically because of his race. It just so happened that we matched. And we matched and we did very well together.”
She also tells a different story of her call with her father than in her first video. According to her, the call wasn’t about meeting her partner; it was about announcing that she was going to marry him.
“I didn’t call my dad to meet my partner. I actually called him to say that I am marrying my partner. And that is the reaction that my dad gave. My dad is never gonna. My parents are never gonna meet him. I just wanted my dad to at least know because he is going to hear it from other people once they find out. I just didn’t want him to hear it from somebody else. I wanted him to hear it from me,” she says.

As mentioned earlier, in her first videos, she said she contacted her father because she and her partner are planning to take the next steps in their relationship, which may end in an engagement. She has not commented on the difference between the two stories.

I recently started working with Google remote jobs and I’m making around $550–$830 per week now. Honestly, I never thought it would be this easy to earn online. If anyone’s serious, there are still openings available!
