During Ben Simmons’ introductory press conference with the Nets, he reflected on his time with the 76ers, his current mental and physical state and what he expects it’ll be like playing alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Simmons also stated that he has spoken to Sixers head coach Doc Rivers but he hasn’t talked to Philadelphia center Joel Embiid. Simmons’ presser was followed up by James Harden, who was introduced by the 76ers.

The 10-time All-Star told the media that Philadelphia was his first choice when he was traded from the Rockets to the Nets last year, but stated that he didn’t want to “get into the Brooklyn situation.” Harden added that Philadelphia has “ride or die” fans and he’s ready to mesh with Joel Embiid and Doc Rivers, and specifically sung the praises of Tobias Harris and young guard Tyrese Maxey. During the trade deadline, Harden was traded to Philadelphia for Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks.
