A 35-year-old Maryland woman faces several felony charges after being accused of trying to drown her 15-year-old daughter during a family vacation to Minnesota.

Jasmine Laws was arrested for having thrown her daughter’s mobile phone into West Battle Lake following an argument that arose after the teen reportedly slapped her mother with a towel while on a pontoon boat.

According to the police, the altercation intensified, and eyewitnesses reported that Laws submerged her daughter in the lake by holding her around the neck.

It is alleged that Laws screamed, “I gave you life, I can f—ing end your life,” at the scene, according to the police.

The teenager told investigators that she passed out before being rescued from the water.

Charges of second-degree attempted murder, domestic assault, and domestic assault by strangulation have been filed against Laws.

The 15-year-old girl remains in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The case is under investigation.
