A video of San Diego State University and California State University San Marcos students harassing a Latino street vendor because they reportedly didn’t want to spend $7 on a hot dog is going viral on social media.

The video posted on Riley Kaufman’s Tik Tok account over the weekend shows one of the women seen throwing an item on the vendor’s grill, and another woman got caught on camera taking food off the vendor’s grill to lick it and then placing it back on the grill. One of the four women said, “If you charge me $7, I’m going to f*ck you over.” At the end video, they were touching all the food, even when he begged them to stop.

The street vendor Andres Arguelles Alvarez asked the four women multiple times to stay away from his cart. Alvarez revealed that the incident occurred because the women were mad because of the prices, and they wanted him to lower the cost of the food.

Danesh is known for identifying people who act recklessly and found the four women in the video harassing the street vendor. Breanna Peelman, Viktoria Oleynik, Mersalle Haider, and Arianna Rasooli are the college students harassing Andres Arguelles Alvarez.

Arianna Rasooli’s employer YogaSix got made aware of the viral food. The company issued a statement revealing Rasooli’s behavior was intolerable, and they plan on taking disciplinary action against their employee. Danesh reacted to the company plans on his Tik Tok account here.

San Diego State University released a statement urging anyone with information about the incident that can confirm the identities of anyone who was involved will share details as soon as possible with the university’s Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities:

“On Monday, we were informed of an incident where several individuals spoke and acted inappropriately toward a food vendor who had set up on the SDSU campus. While several social media accounts initially reported otherwise, none of the individuals in the video are confirmed to be SDSU students. Further, while individual names have been shared online, at least one SDSU student and a student organization tagged by social media accounts reported being misidentified and not present in the video, and none of the remaining names shared are SDSU students. SDSU is in contact with other local universities and has confirmed with university officials that three individuals connected to the video are currently or have been students elsewhere, not at SDSU.”

“The behavior toward the food vendor is unacceptable and counter to expectations of human dignity. No person should be treated with this level of disrespect. In the interest of accountability, no matter where a person is studying, SDSU continues to seek information about what happened and will share information with other universities. We continue to urge anyone with information about the incident and who can confirm the identities of to urge anyone who was involved to share details as soon as possible with SDSU’s Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities via the online reporting form.”

“As there were individuals in the video incorrectly identified, we caution all to rely on accurate sources of information and to only report and share information verified by legitimate sources and authorities. We urge any threatening behavior toward individuals and organizations to cease immediately.”

Only one of the girls reportedly attends San Diego State University. The other three students attend California State University, San Marcos.

CSUSM released a statement addressing their students in the viral video harassing the street vendor:

“We appreciate all those who have reported the upsetting video circulating on social media. The actions of the individuals in that video are not consistent with our values at CSUSM.”

The statement continued with the University revealing they are trying to gather more information about the incident.

“As we continued to gather information related to the incident, please know that we are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all members of our campus community. All CSUSM students also are held to the standards in our Standards for Student Conduct.”

Breanna Peelman has a history of disrespecting people of color. A Tik Toker named Salty Roast has accused Peelman of calling him the N-word five times at a party while they were still in high school.

Many people on social media are urging the university to ban them for their actions.
