Nancy Mace on What Republicans Are Saying About New Epstein Petition: “Nothing”

Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina said she hasn’t heard “Nothing” from her colleagues in the Republican Party regarding the new discharge petition related to the Epstein Files Transparency Act II.

The remarks came in response to a question from Pablo Manriquez, a reporter at the MeidasTouch Network, about what he was hearing from Republicans on the act.

In another question, the reporter asked the congressman, “Congressman, what’s been the reception so far about the second Epstein Files Transparency Act that you’re leading?”

The answer given by Mace was: “When I signed it, I think there were already more than a dozen lawmakers, and I’m going to go ask Massey if he’s going to hit 218 and how fast. It’s absolutely something we need to do. The victims need to be able to go get the information and evidence for them, and our attorneys general, especially in New Mexico, need to be able to continue the investigation and get files from the DOJ, Southern District of New York, etc.”

The question asked by Manriquez was: “And what are you hearing from your Republican colleagues on the position?” She replied, “Fitzpatrick says that he’s likely, and Wesley Hunt said he was open to it.”

Manriquez asked a follow-up question: “To signing the discharge petition?”

“Oh, that would be fantastic. I was about to go ask Massey about it. I’m like, how many signatures do we have? How quickly can we get this thing going? Do we continue the campaign trail to support Ms. Senator Darlene?”

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky started the petition with Rep. Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, in late August 2026. It aims to compel a vote in the House of Representatives on legislation that will enable state attorneys general and Epstein victims to gain access to unreleased Justice Department files regarding the sex trafficking network.

Mace is one of the few Republicans who supported the previous Epstein transparency act.
