Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced she would launch any new congressional inquiries into the sphere surrounding President Donald Trump by following the financial links between Trump’s friends, their major donors, and benefactors.
When asked by the reporter of MeidasTouch Network Pablo Manriquez which person would top her list as Democrats are working on compiling targets for investigations in the Trump circle in the upcoming term in case they take control of the House, Ocasio-Cortez responded:
“That’s a hard question.”
After that, she shifted focus to money.
“I’m always about following the money,” the New York democrat stated. “So look, look for the connections between their largest donors, their largest benefactors and some of the corruption that’s been going on.”
She made these statements while House Democrats, serving as ranking members, had already begun oversight hearings into Trump business enterprises, including Donald Trump Jr.’s firm, 1789 Capital, agreements involving Jared Kushner, and the administration’s contracts, out of concern that officials were benefiting from them personally.
