In an interview with MeidasTouch Network reporter Pablo Manriquez, Rep. Yassamin Ansari says supporters of the second Epstein Files Transparency Act are trying to gather the 218 signatures needed to bring it to the House floor. She claims that the Trump administration has failed to fulfill the law of 2025 that says that the Justice Department needs to present the entire contents of its files concerning Jeffrey Epstein.

“So Congresswoman, obviously you’re one of the leaders of the second Epstein Files Transparency Act. Can you tell us a little bit about what it does or what it would do?” Manriquez asked her.

“Yeah, so there is a discharge petition on the floor right now, which means that we are trying to get 218 signatures,” Ansari responded. “And what this would do is that because the Trump administration has been leading the biggest cover-up in American history in the way that they have refused to release the entirety of the Epstein Files, even though they would require the first Transparency Act to do so, and they improperly released names and personal information of the survivors, this would allow state attorney generals, members of Congress, survivors, etc., to sue and go after the administration for failing to comply.”

She pointed out that the bill would improve the administration’s accountability and give survivors more power.

“And so it provides us with much stronger accountability measures and gives a lot more power, quite frankly, to the survivors in particular to go after this administration,” Ansari said.

Ansari mentioned Attorney General Todd Blanche as someone leading the cover-up of the files. Ansari said, “So I’m talking about people like Todd Blanche, who is now the attorney general and who is leading the most massive and egregious cover-up in American history.”

According to Ansari, the releases so far are incomplete and heavily redacted, but the administration still exposes survivors’ personal information.

“So we are pushing very hard to get those signatures,” Ansari said. “We need to get this passed because we are not going to give up this fight on getting the full Epstein files released to the American people.”

“Got it. Thank you,” Manriquez responded.
