Netflix Just Dropped the “SAKAMOTO DAYS” Season 2 Teaser and It’s Everything

Netflix has unveiled the Season 2 teaser trailer and teaser art of SAKAMOTO DAYS, an action anime series returning to Netflix in January 2027.

Based on the popular manga by Yuto Suzuki, which has been published in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020 and has sold more than 15 million copies globally.

In the second season, legendary ex-hitman Taro Sakamoto and Shin break into JCC, Japan Cleaner Culture, a school where assassins are educated, to find out more information about the enigmatic Slur, otherwise known as X. In parallel, ORDER members Nagumo, Shishiba, and Osaragi travel to Kyoto for their assignment and are ambushed by an unexpected enemy. As the intrigue thickens, the common history of young Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion, and Slur is revealed.

In the teaser art, Sakamoto and Shin stand back-to-back as they prepare to enter JCC. In the hand of the former hitman, Sakamoto’s signature weapon, a pen, which he received as part of the JCC entrance exam. Shin is wearing a brand-new glove, foreshadowing upcoming battles.

SAKAMOTO DAYS

The teaser trailer reveals for the first time Sakamoto undercover, disguised as a student teacher, Aoi, his wife, and Shin gathering information as students at JCC. Also, returning characters from the first season, such as Natsuki Seba and Akira Akao, are featured, along with some newcomers: Amane, the most outstanding student of JCC who doesn’t believe in Assassin’s Alliance; Satota, the longest-serving teacher at JCC who was once Sakamoto’s instructor; and Yotsumura, one of the secret founders of ORDER.

The director of SAKAMOTO DAYS, Daisuke Nakajima, who previously worked on the franchise in Season 1, is directing Season 2. The Supervising Director is still Masaki Watanabe.

Carrying the baton from Season 1, I am bringing all my passion to expressing in animation the appeal, momentum, and epic scale of a work loved so fervently by fans around the world. Please look forward to Season 2’s grand opening!”

SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 is coming to Netflix in January 2027.
