Celebrities and influencers celebrated Prime Video’s highly anticipated upcoming drama series Riches at a larger-than-life immersive art activation at Art Basel in Miami on Thursday, December 1st.
“The Crown We Never Take Off” celebrated elements from the show that exhibit the freedom of expression and identity across the Black diasporic experience through several mediums, including photography, sculpture, painting, music, video, and performance art.
Creator, Executive Producer, and Writer Abby Ajayi (Inventing Anna, How To Get Away With Murder), Executive Producer Amanda Jenks (The Girl, Been So Long), and cast Deborah Ayorinde (Them, Truth Be Told), Emmanuel Imani (Cobra, Black Earth Rising), and Nneka Okoye (Grantchester, The A List) from Riches were in attendance.
Sidra Smith, Mariama Diallo, Broderick Hunter, Ashley Nicole, Simi Muhumuza, and more attended the event as guest.
Collaborating with curator Donnamarie Baptiste, guests within “The Crown We Never Take Off” exhibit space enjoyed various art forms from artists like Marryam Noma, Carlos Idun-Tawiah, Tammie Knight, and Morel Doucet that map back to the overlooked efforts of Black entrepreneurs and creatives who, like the Richards family, push boundaries and excel despite the odds.
Riches follows the exploits of the stylish, privileged, super-successful Richards family. When Stephen Richards (Hugh Quarshie) passes suddenly, the family’s world comes crashing down. As his business hangs in the balance, his different sets of children are about to collide as they vie for control.
The six-part series premieres today (December 2) on Prime Video in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Nordics, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Greenacre Films produced the series in association with Monumental Television and got commissioned by ITV.
