Congresswoman Ilhan Omar called it time to either resign or face impeachment, since Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth poses a danger to national security and has discredited the country on the international level.
Omar made this statement during a short interview with MeidasTouch Network journalist Pablo Manriquez, who claims he asked this question to other House members as well.
“The question I’ve been asking your colleagues today is, do you think it’s time for Pete Hegseth to be impeached or resign?” asked Manriquez.
“I think we’ve been down this road before,” answered Omar. “It’s way past time. I mean, he’s made a mockery of our country. I think it risks our national security, and it’s losing us respect.”
Omar also pointed out problems in the ranks.
“The way that he’s leading, his statements, the sadness that we hear from service members and not feeling like they have a real leader,” she said. “I think all of those things should concern every single person.”
Earlier, Manriquez asked Omar about surveillance technology and how voters in her district see the issue.
“So what do you hear from your constituents about Flock cameras?” asked the reporter.
“Oh, I think we have way too much surveillance, and it’s really important that we figure out how to stop it and not increase it,” replied Omar.
