Sarasota Military Academy Teacher Michele Little Arrested After Inappropriately Touching A Student

Police in Sarasota have detained 29-year-old Michele Little. After engaging in inappropriate behavior with a male student, 17, she is now facing a felony charge of Indecent, Lewd, or Lascivious Touching of Certain Minors. At the campus of Sarasota Military Academy High School, Little teaches.

When representatives from the school contacted detectives about rumors involving the student and Little, Sarasota Police detectives started their investigation. Patrol officers from Sarasota Police were called to the school on April 25, 2023, and they spoke with Little there. The school then put her on administrative leave. The student was questioned at the Child Protection Center on April 27, 2023.

The student claimed that Little repeatedly made sexual remarks to him over a period of several weeks. The student claimed that on April 17, 2023, he visited Little’s classroom during lunch.

According to the student, Little entered the room with a sign on the door that read “testing/tutoring” to ensure that only he would be inside and that no one else would. The pupil inquired as to the teacher’s plans for that day’s after-school activities. The student joked that he could help the teacher if she needed it as she said she was tidying up her room. Yes, she would like assistance, the teacher replied to him.

After school, the student went back to the classroom, and Little had the door propped open with a pencil so he could enter without the door locking. Little shut the door’s blinds when the student entered the room, and the student logged on to a computer so that he could appear to be working on it if anyone entered the room. Before leaving the classroom, the student claimed that he was on the computer for 10 to 15 minutes while “making out” with Little.

Faculty, parents, and students at Sarasota Military Academy High School were sent the following statement, “The High School administration was made aware of an alleged incident that happened between a staff member and student that is being investigated by the Sarasota Police Department. We have come to learn that an arrest was made by the Sarasota Police Department, and any updates regarding this case will be released by the SPD.”

On April 28, 2023, Little was taken into custody by Sarasota Police detectives and taken to the county jail. On Saturday, when she is scheduled to appear in court for the first time, her bond will be decided.
