Shudder offers “History of Evil,” a spine-chilling drama of survival against the backdrop of persecution, set in a dystopian near future where war and corruption have converted America into a theocratic police state. This horror thriller, which will be released on February 23, promises to immerse fans in a universe where The Resistance fights for freedom.

“History of Evil,” directed by Bo Mirhosseni, follows Alegre Dyer, a member of The Resistance, as she escapes a political prison to rejoin her family, which includes her husband Ron and daughter Daria. The family flees from the unrelenting militia, seeking safety in a distant safe house. However, their haven conceals a deadly secret that threatens to devour Ron, compromising their search for safety.

The film stars Paul Wesley and Jackie Cruz, who are well-known for their fascinating performances. Wesley, known for his part in “The Vampire Diaries,” plays Ron, while Cruz, well known for her role in “Orange Is the New Black,” plays Alegre Dyer. Murphee Bloom and Rhonda Johnsson Dents round out the cast, bringing dimension to the film’s story.

“History of Evil” unfolds as a horror thriller, delving into the psychological toll of persecution and the extent a family would take to survive in a dystopian world. Mirhosseni, the writer and director, creates a captivating story with a 98-minute length, guaranteeing spectators an intense and immersive experience.

Shudder, the renowned streaming site for horror fans continues to push the genre’s boundaries with “History of Evil.” As the trailer teases the film’s atmospheric tension and creepy overtones, expectation grows for a gripping examination of dread and survival in a nightmare future.

Mark your calendars for February 23rd, when Shudder will premiere “History of Evil,” encouraging fans to enter a world where horror meets dystopia, and the boundary between reality and nightmares blurs into a haunting story of the human spirit’s perseverance.
