Sophie Rain Rates Her Chances of Getting Into Heaven: ‘I Would Say About a 7’

Bryce Crawford looked into the eyes of Sophie Rain and delivered a truth many wouldn’t tell her in person: she believes Sophie’s career is leading her followers into sin.

Sophie Rain, 21, an OnlyFans creator who claims she earned tens of millions on the platform, was listening attentively. During a long and mostly mild interview conducted in The Bryce Crawford Podcast, she talked about her childhood in poverty in Florida, the money she earned online, the boundaries she sets, and the unanswered questions of her faith.

“A lot of people think OnlyFans, you’re having sex on camera. That’s what everyone thinks,” Rain said. “I don’t do that. I’m a virgin. I’ve never had sex.”

Crawford, a Christian podcaster who started a Bible study in Los Angeles after moving there at the age of 18, pushed her about whether her profession was consistent with her faith practiced since childhood.

“Is there any part of you that feels convicted about what you’re doing on OnlyFans?” he asked.

“I mean, I can’t lie and say no,” Rain said. “I don’t pretend to know all the answers. I’m still building a relationship with my faith in God every single day. I’m only 21. … I’m still figuring it out.”

“I am a content creator online. I’m 21 years old,” Rain said. “I started around 2023, posting content on every single platform, and that’s just what I’ve been doing ever since.”

She was born in Florida and grew up there as the second youngest among four siblings. Rain says her family was in financial trouble often.

“It was hard. It was a struggle,” she said. “We lived on food stamps. We didn’t have much money. I remember the first memory I have is my parents stealing food from the grocery store because they didn’t have enough money that week.”

Rain says she lived with her grandparents for some time and experienced severe depression by the age of seven due to the financial issues of her family. “I remember watching my parents struggle, and I wanted to fix this,” she explained. “So, I stepped in. I helped them out. They live in the house I bought them. They take care of my animals whenever I travel.”

Her family went to church every Sunday, and Rain says one of her joys during childhood was Vacation Bible School. She says the same pastor, whom she refers to as Pastor Greg, has been her home church pastor her whole life, and she even tries to watch his livestream on Sundays while traveling. “When I was really depressed, I would fall back on God,” she said confidingly.

Prior to joining OnlyFans, Rain worked as a waitress at Papa Joe’s, an Italian restaurant she describes as “a cute little mom-and-pop place.”

“I was busting my a**. I was picking up doubles,” she remembers. “I probably worked at least 50 hours a week.”

One day she noticed that one of her friends was driving a Tesla and living in a fancy apartment in Tampa, and she asked, “How are you doing this? I need to know. I need to make money. I want to help my family out.” The friend introduced her to OnlyFans, and Rain joined the platform a couple of months later.

Within days of creating an OnlyFans account, she was fired from her job at the restaurant after her coworkers told the owner — who she says is very religious — about the creation of her OnlyFans account. “He fired me,” she explains, noting that she had around $2,000 at the time.

“I believe everything happens for a reason. I wasn’t mad,” she said. “I knew I was going to be okay because, regardless, I have God.”

Money came quickly. According to Rain, she already had a follower base on TikTok and Instagram prior to joining the platform, earned $20,000 in the first month, and $100,000 a month in three months.

“I thought I owned the world,” she admits.

She said she gave half of that first month’s earnings to her parents and asked them to pay off all their debts. “Pay off all your bills. I know you’re in debt,” she remembers saying to them.

The most money she has earned in one year, Rain said, is $46 million. There was one subscriber on her OnlyFans that stands out.

“There was one subscriber on your OnlyFans who spent almost $5 million on you in 11 months,” he pointed out.

“Yes,” Rain replied. She says that she still stays in touch with the man, who dislikes when people talk about him publicly. “He’s my number one fan.”

Her parents found out about her account only when someone on the internet traced them down and sent her screenshots attempting to blackmail her. “My parents were upset at first,” she said, “because I didn’t tell them and they were afraid that I wasn’t safe.”

“Right now, they’re incredibly supportive, 100%,” she adds.

Rain credits her faith for her staying the same person despite earning lots of money. “I truly believe it’s my faith,” she said. She spends her free time managing a farm she owns in Tampa. “I love working on the farm. I’m pretty sure I broke my toe a couple months ago when my cow stomped on it.”

She donated over $400,000 to teachers first in Florida and then across the country, paying off wish lists on Amazon for more than 500 teachers. “I love giving back because I know what it’s like to struggle and not grow up with money,” she explained.

The limits Rain set up from the beginning of her career have stayed the same. “I don’t get naked on camera. I don’t do that,” she said. “That’s where I draw the line.”

“I will never have sex on camera,” she added later. “I just am not comfortable with that.” Her advice to other women who feel pressured to cross those lines is simple: “If you’re not comfortable with it, say no. Like, no means no.”

She admitted that people paying to text her are not always talking to her. “I do text a lot of times when I’m home, but most of the time I have people helping me,” she explains. The helpers are people from her close environment, including her sister and her mother, not strangers.

Asked if this makes her feel guilty, Rain replied, “I don’t feel guilty because, regardless, you’re paying for a relationship online, so I’m going to do my best to give you that.”

If people claim that they’re married when messaging her, Rain says, “I immediately restricted their account.”

She mentioned the risks she has to face working on the platform. “I have multiple stalkers,” Rain said. Her address is taken off the internet, but someone recently sent flowers to her home. “I’ve had people come and swat my house before while I’m there. It’s not fun. It’s really hard to be in this industry.”

She told a story about a famous person who once messaged her on Instagram with a proposition to give him her virginity for $15 million. “I just ignored it because that’s ridiculous,” she said. “I’m not doing that.”

Crawford called the offer disgusting and claimed that it proves that her profession involves temptation despite the boundaries being set. Rain argued that people create an image of her online that she can’t control. “I know who I am in my heart, and that’s how I sleep well at night,” she said.

She also said that OnlyFans doesn’t necessarily have to be a sexual industry, as it was originally created for fitness creators who were selling workouts. Moreover, she values the ability to communicate directly with fans. Crawford was still skeptical and said that nobody goes to OnlyFans to buy pictures of a person in a onesie.

“I know someone who’s selling recipes on OnlyFans,” Rain replied.

Crawford told Rain that women who visited his Bible study were crying because of their joining OnlyFans with bikini photos and, in his words, eventually ended up dating escorts. He also shared his personal experience with pornography, starting in the fifth grade with a meme. “It took a meme for me to go into sin,” he said.

When asked if she feels guilty for inspiring others to join OnlyFans, Rain replied, “I don’t feel guilty. I do feel very sorry for the girls who are going through that because it’s a problem in today’s society.”

“It’s not for everyone,” she added. “It’s really hard to do this.”

Crawford then quoted Matthew 18 where Jesus warns that it’s better to drown oneself in the sea with a millstone around the neck than to cause others to sin.

“So, should I jump in the ocean and kill myself because I’m leading men into lust?” Rain asked. “I put everything out with intent, and I believe I can’t control other people’s actions.”

Crawford chuckled and clarified that he wasn’t suggesting that. “No, I definitely was not telling you to kill yourself in the ocean,” he said, calling the quote a metaphor. “I obviously think what you’re doing is wrong. And I respect you as a human being.”

Rain admitted that she doesn’t see herself as blameless. “I don’t think I’m perfect,” she said. “I can see there is wrong on this site. Like, obviously it’s not the best thing in the world.”

However, she insisted that she wants to look back at her time on the platform with no regrets. “I don’t think I should look back and say, forgive me, Lord, for my sins because I was on OnlyFans,” she said.

Crawford read Hebrews 10:26, which warns about willfully persisting in sin when one knows the truth, and asked if Rain believed she was doing something wrong. “I don’t think I’m doing anything horrible,” she replied.

Rain says she has never mentioned OnlyFans to her longtime pastor. “I haven’t talked to him personally about OnlyFans. That’s something I keep between me and God,” she explained.

She says that she would understand when it’s time to quit. “I think I’ll know when it’s time to move on to a different path,” she said. “Like He’ll make it known.”

When asked if God could provide her with everything else than OnlyFans, she answered, “100%. Yes, I believe that.” When asked what the platform cost her, she said, “I’ve lost my job and maybe a little bit of my sanity, but that’s about it.”

What keeps her there, Rain said, is the connection. “I’ve made friends online, and that’s something I really enjoy. I don’t want to lose all of that,” she added.

Both of them disagree on sharing their faith with followers of another religion. “I don’t like Christians who push God onto other religions,” Rain said. Crawford countered that, “In my opinion, Jesus is the only way.”

“I think OnlyFans is hurting your soul whether you acknowledge it or not,” Crawford said, and asked if she felt judged.

“I think God may be using this conversation,” Rain said. “You’ve given me a lot to think about. And I’m grateful for that.”

Near the end of the interview, Crawford asked a question he asks every guest.

“On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being absolutely certain and 1 not confident at all, how confident are you that if you died right now, you’d go to heaven?”

“I’d say about a 7,” Rain replied. “I think I could be doing a lot more in my life, giving back more and clearly vocalizing more about God.”

“I’m not a perfect Christian. I don’t think there is such a thing as a perfect Christian, but I could obviously be a better one,” she said. She said that going to church more often, getting closer to her congregation and pastor would make her feel like a ten.

Crawford called himself a ten as well. “I don’t think being a ten is about ego,” he said. “It’s about confidence,” he argued, explaining that salvation comes from the cross of Jesus, not good works. He shared his years of depression and anxiety, telling the story about his plan to commit suicide at 17 before the supernatural encounter with Jesus inside a Waffle House.

“I’m looking forward to the day I can fully experience the Lord,” Rain said. “I know this sounds strange, but I’m excited to go to heaven.”

Crawford finished with a prayer for Rain’s protection and provision, “not in the way she earns money,” and prayed for God to show whether her career is right or wrong. “Would you bring godly women into her life to encourage and challenge her in her faith?” he prayed.

Rain says that she doesn’t plan to stay on OnlyFans forever. “I don’t believe OnlyFans will be my whole life. Honestly, I don’t want it to be,” she said. “So, I’m really looking forward to the next chapter He’s going to lead me toward.”
