Sydney Sweeney was surprised to find a provocative billboard in Times Square advertising Novig, an app that facilitates sports trading and in which Sweeney holds equity.
In the ad, Sweeney is shown in sexually explicit pictures with sports equipment used to cover up parts of her body, with the tagline, “Just Sports.”
As an equity holder and strategic partner in this enterprise, Sydney has helped design this ad campaign, which focuses on the fun of sports without politics.
Some people have found this billboard controversial because they think that the depiction is demeaning to women and could be detrimental to the women who play sports. On the other hand, some people praise Sydney Sweeney for using her image for herself and taking an active part in her business ventures.
To counter all the controversies surrounding the billboard, Sydney posted historic magazine covers where nude athletes were featured.
