The parents of a 6-month-old baby have been arrested by Indiana officials, who stated that rats discovered the child in a nearly eaten alive state.
David and Angel Schonabaum and Delaina Thurman are facing child neglect charges, according to the arrest affidavits.
Officers were called to a residence in Evansville on September 13th following a report by David Schonabaum stating that he had discovered his 6-month-old son in his bassinet, covered in blood.
The baby was transported to a local hospital prior to being airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis.
According to the police, the baby’s forehead, cheek, nose, thigh, foot, and toes had more than 50 rat bites.
According to them, the baby had bites on his right arm from the elbow down to his hand. It was reported that all of the fingers had missing parts, which exposed the bones.
Officials stated that the baby’s temperature was 93.5 degrees, and he required a blood transfusion.
